Gwalla Music Group was founded in 2003 with its original name “Nsane Entertainment” in New Orleans, Louisiana. This label was started simply because different audiences rated “Gwalla” as a great young artist who was full of energy, but no labels he associated with ever offered him an opportunity to work with local artists who were legends like Kangal Slim, Fila Phil, L.O.G and more. After the label dropped its first project titled “Bombing on The Game” in 2004 the artist received his first record deal with a well-known label named “Goodfellas” who had a large team of representatives within the city. He quickly became the front runner on that label which incited strife amongst him, and another artist signed to the label. Before he could drop his second project “Hurricane Katrina” Destroyed the city and the Nsane Entertainment label was forced to move to Houston, Texas to start from the ground up all over again with no connections or fanbase.
From 2005 to 2010 the label was dedicated to building its brand, making serious connections, and dropping relative music with messages that will pique major labels interest and ruffle the right feathers. By 2015 Gwalla Music Group signed two record deals with the labels Burtboy Entertainment and Realla Records and worked amongst other major labels like Quality Control, Swisha House, Mile High Music Group, TRU Records, Maybach Music and more as the company was identified as an independent movement that catches others attention easily. The label has a loyal fan base now and has a history of being booked for interviews on radio stations like 93.7 the Beat, 92.1 Now, and other well-known television shows.
